New Attendance Boundaries Kick Off Fall 2026

New attendance boundaries go into effect at district elementary and middle schools the 2026-27 school year. Please double-check whether or not your household is impacted by using the 2026-27 school finder tool

Last spring, a multi-month community engagement process helped to determine the new attendance boundaries. Please refer to the board report for details. As shared, changes were needed because of a significant enrollment imbalance. The community’s support of Building a Better Future limited adjustments to elementary and middle schools.

Our team is here to support you and your family in making a smooth transition. Please reach out with any questions via BetterFuture@district279.org or 763-391-8990.

Next steps in the transition process

November 2025:
Students impacted by attendance boundary changes received a mailed letter and follow-up email that provides information about the upcoming change and the student's new school for 2026-27. For students who will be in fifth or eighth grade next year, there will also be information shared about the option to remain in their current school for 2026-27.

Spring and summer 2026:
Welcome events will take place at all district elementary and middle schools to help new incoming students feel comfortable and welcome in their new school environment.
