Blast Wrap Around Care at Oak View Elementary School
Blast Wrap Around Care is a full-day extended child care program for students enrolled in any of the prekindergarten programs at Oak View Elementary School during the 2026-27 school year.

Registration information will be sent to families once their student’s prekindergarten registration has been approved at Oak View Elementary School.

- Social-emotional learning using Second Step and the Pyramid Model curriculum helping students build confidence, friendships and emotional skills.
- Daily routines and transitions that build comfort and consistency.
- Hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and literacy activities activities that spark curiosity, creativity and exploration.
- Outdoor play, physical movement and rest time as needed
- Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack provided.
- Daily rest time if needed

Program highlights
Flexible scheduling
- Families can choose morning care, afternoon care, or both to fit their schedule.
- Blast is available from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, including most non-school days.
Wrap-around support
Care is planned around your child’s prekindergarten class, providing a full day of learning, play and routine.
Tuition
Blast is a tuition based, 40-week program that follows the school year calendar. Weekly tuition is $200. We are open on most non-school days and these days are included in your tuition. To request an application, email the Kidstop/Four Star business office by email to cecares@district279.org or call 763-585-7281.

- Blast Wrap Around Care is open on most non-school days from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
- Registration for non-school days can be made online in your account at osseo.ce.eleyo.com with a current contract.
- Non-school day requests remain pending until approved two weeks prior to the non-school date. Non-school days are included in tuition.

What type of curriculum is used in this program?
Blast Wrap Around Care offers a balance of structured and unstructured play-based activities that align with the district’s early childhood curriculum. The program emphasizes social-emotional learning, utilizing both the Second Step curriculum and the Pyramid Model to help children develop important skills like emotional regulation, empathy, and problem-solving. Program staff will collaborate closely with Early Childhood & Family Education staff at Oak View Elementary School to support continued learning and provide consistency between the prekindergarten class and wrap around care
What kind of enrichment and play-based activities are offered?
Students will engage in a variety of activities that promote learning and growth such as dramatic play, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), literacy, fine/gross motor skill development, mindfulness and outdoor play. Both large and small group activities are incorporated throughout the day to support social interaction, cooperation and individual learning needs.

Is transportation available to Oak View Elementary School if my student is enrolled in Blast Wrap Around Care?
Transportation eligibility varies depending on the early learning program you are attending and the student’s home address. Please contact transportation to determine eligibility at 763-391-7244 or email BusQuestions@District279.org. If request is received by August 14, 2026, transportation will start the first day of school (if eligible) for the 2026-27 school year. Requests received after August 14, 2026 will be processed in the order received once routes are open in mid-September.
