American Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee

Help ensure the school district is meeting the unique and culture-related academic needs of American Indian students

The American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC) provides an important opportunity for families, students, and community members to partner with our district in supporting American Indian students.

What is the AIPAC?

Established under Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.78, AIPACs are required for school districts with 10 or more American Indian students enrolled. Their purpose is to ensure that American Indian students receive culturally relevant and equitable educational opportunities.

Key Roles of the AIPAC

  • Advisory in nature — Works alongside the district to support American Indian students academically and culturally.
  • Parent- and family-driven — Membership is primarily made up of parents/guardians of American Indian students, along with students, staff, and community members.
  • Essential to student success — Reviews programs, provides recommendations, and ensures accountability by advising on curriculum, cultural responsiveness, attendance, testing, and graduation outcomes.

Each year, the AIPAC also participates in an Annual Compliance process (Resolution of Concurrence or Nonconcurrence) to formally evaluate how well the district is meeting the needs of American Indian students.
