2026–27 school year preschool and prekindergarten information

Osseo Area Schools will offer a variety of preschool and prekindergarten programs for children who turn 3 or 4 on or before Sept. 1, 2026. Each program provides play-based learning, highly qualified staff, family and community engagement and flexible schedules to meet family needs.

Families are encouraged to frequently visit osseoschools.org/preschool for the latest information about all Osseo Area Schools’ preschool and prekindergarten programs for the 2026-27 school year. The website includes important dates, application deadlines, lottery details and answers to frequently asked questions. Additional details will be shared in the weeks ahead as they become available.

Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year is now open for Tuition-Free Prekindergarten (also called Voluntary Prekindergarten or VPK) for children who will turn 4 on or before Sept. 1, 2026, are not eligible for kindergarten and meet qualifications to attend. 

• Magnet school with Tuition-Free Prekindergarten: Apply online by Dec. 17, 2025, for Birch Grove School for the Arts to enter the first lottery at www.nws.k12.mn.us. Contact Northwest Suburban Integration School District at 763-450-1303 with questions. 
• All other non-magnet schools with Tuition-Free Prekindergarten: Apply by Jan. 15, 2026, for the lottery. Applications received after Jan. 15 will be processed in the order they arrive at the Enrollment Center.
