Brooklyn Middle STEAM School hosts STEAM night, multicultural event

Brooklyn Middle STEAM School (BMS) hosted an engaging, multifaceted event the evening of April 30. The night included a showcase of the students’ science, technology, engineering, math and arts (STEAM) projects from throughout the school year, a multicultural event, a Bulldog Cafe where students baked and served snacks and treats from around the world, and a celebration of the school’s long-time principal Kim Monette, who will soon retire.
The multicultural event featured a series of performances from the school’s School of Rock band, led by orchestra teacher Andrew Meyer, Hmong dancers, a series of spoken words poetry readings by students and a performance by the Brooklyn Park Lions dance and drum line.
