Middle school students shine on stage for ‘Disney’s Lion King KIDS’ musical

Middle school students performed “Disney’s The Lion King KIDS!” this past weekend for family and friends, with free performances at Maple Grove Middle School Auditorium. The musical was made possible through a partnership with Community Education Youth Enrichment programs and The B.E.A.T Bunce Performing Arts.

For several weeks, the cast of 34 students in sixth through eighth grade practiced their lines, blocked scenes, learned choreography and developed characters to bring the Pride Lands to life on stage May 1 and 2. The vibrant performances included colorful props and costumes.

Osseo Area Schools’ Community Education Youth Enrichment program continues to offer valuable opportunities for students to develop skills in the arts while fostering confidence, teamwork and leadership.

Families with children interested in acting, dancing and theater can explore Camp ROCKS! Mini Camps offered this summer through Community Education. Registration is open online until camps are full.
