Osseo Area Schools celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 each year, and Osseo Area Schools celebrated the recognition month in some fun ways.
The most visible celebration took place Oct. 10 at Park Center Senior High School, where the entire community was invited to take part in a festive, colorful event that included live music, food, various activities and a program that featured multiple performances and a flag parade. This celebration was put on by Osseo Area Schools’ Family & Community Engagement (FACE) group, in coordination with a group of student leaders.
Additionally, some elementary schools created events in their schools such as the Hispanic heritage museum in Palmer Lake Elementary School’s library media center and classroom celebrations at Garden City Elementary School, where classrooms invited parents to join in to help students create pinatas and take part in a read-aloud activity celebrating Hispanic culture.
