Park Center Senior High School looking for preschool participants for spring Playschool class

The Child Development Lab class at Park Center Senior High School (PCSH) is looking for preschool-aged children ages 3, 4 and 5 to attend Park Center Playschool this spring. This free, seven-week class runs on Tuesday/Thursday mornings from April 7-May 21, and families can choose if they’d like their child to attend Tuesday, Thursday or both. Participants must be toilet trained.

Each spring, this high school classroom transforms into a vibrant, joyful space of shared learning and growth. High school students with an interest in child development and early childhood education lead a preschool class, with engaging activities for young learners like circle time, reading and play-based learning.

“It’s a beautiful thing—education going two ways,” said one parent. “The preschoolers get to learn with and from a diverse group of high school students, and at the same time, the high schoolers grow by engaging directly with young learners. Everyone walks away changed for the better and having learned from the experience.”

Contact PCSH instructor Joanne Bauerly with questions or to RSVP. Email is BauerlyJ@district279.org, or call PCSH at 763-569-7600 and leave a message. Reserve a space by March 30!
