Recap of this year’s school board-initiated Community Conversations

Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2025-26 Community Conversations – the online form and in-person conversations Nov. 5, Feb. 3 and May 12. This new community engagement opportunity was driven by our vision of One Community For All – where all are heard and valued. The feedback you shared has enabled school board members and district leadership to better understand the why behind our district’s strengths and growth opportunities.

"We’re incredibly grateful to the families and staff members who dedicated their time to share their perspectives," said Tanya Prince, school board chair. "This feedback has given us a community-built roadmap."

The broad categories that were most important to form respondents were academic programming, safety and security, student health and wellbeing, and discipline. These topics were then discussed at length at the in-person component of the events. Please look to the report for the full feedback results. 

In direct response to community feedback, our district will: 

• Review educational use of technology
• Review teaching/learning for students needing more rigor
• Review student management (consistency in response to behavior)
• Review kindergarten class size
• Review communication modalities alongside multilingual communication development
• Review student support scheduling and practices (mental health, psychology, social work and counseling)
