Schools host events celebrating winter and the holiday season

In the days leading up to winter break, many schools hosted fun events to bring school communities together and to celebrate the many winter holidays.

Basswood Elementary School moonlight bowling

Students at Basswood Elementary School put their skills to the test before winter break with Moonlight Bowling during their gym class. Students in each grade bowled in a gym decorated with holiday lights, disco balls and a roaring fire on the monitors. The bowlers earned prizes throughout the class period.

The students could shop for a variety of student and community-made items, allowing them the opportunity to select gifts for family members and friends. After shopping, event volunteers helped students wrap their gifts.
