Students take part in enriching activities during Kidstop non-school day program

On April 27, the Community Education Kidstop school-age care program provided students with a full day of structured, enriching activities at several elementary schools.

At Rush Creek and Woodland elementary schools, students engaged in a variety of experiences that encourage creativity, leadership, movement and social interaction time.

At Rush Creek Elementary School, a highlight of the day was a student-led talent show in the gym where students showcased their talents though solos, group dance and breakdancing routines. Kidstop staff and students cheered on the performers.

Students also took to the gym for movement activities, including a soccer game. In the media center, students took part in quiet activities, drawing with friends, reading favorite books or spending time with friends in a relaxed setting.

At Woodland Elementary School, student choice continued with a variety of activities in the cafeteria including board game favorites such as Sorry!, Connect 4 and chess.

In the Kidstop room, students explored hands-on activities by building floor structures and creating crafts. In the gym, students enjoyed movement and physical activity riding scooters and practicing basketball skills.

Whether before school, after school or on non-school days, Community Education Kidstop staff work to provide enriching programming that support students’ growth through active learning, encouragement and opportunities.
