Summer fun is planned for students through Community Education programs

This summer, Osseo Area Schools Community Education will kickoff a variety of academic and enrichment programming for students in early childhood, elementary, middle and high school.

Summer highlights:

  • The Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program will have classes such as Baby Yoga, Drop-In and Play, outdoor Nature Play at the Nature Play Area at Arbor View Early Childhood Center and Birth to Five classes at Willow Lane Early Childhood Center. Two returning summer class favorites, Community Connections and ECFE at the Park, will give families the opportunity connect with others and explore local community resources or play and explore outdoors together at local community parks. The ECFE program is still accepting online registrations until all spots are filled.
  • Youth Enrichment and Targeted Services programs will offer fun and engaging summer enrichment activities and camps for preschool and school-age students to explore many interests through Camp Rocks! Academic Adventures and Mini Camps. From sports to art, theatre and more, students will have opportunities to learn and practice skills, have fun, build academic skills and friendships with other students. Weekly Pre-K Mini Camps and Mini Camps will be at Rice Lake Elementary School for eight weeks. Registrations are still being accepted online until all spots are filled.

  • Summer Kidstop school age care is for students entering kindergarten to fifth grade. The program will be at Basswood, Oak View, Woodland and Weaver Lake elementary schools. In addition to structured activities and choice-based programming at sites, a variety of field trips are planned, including the Minnesota Zoo, Nickelodeon Universe, Valley Fair Amusement and more.

  • OMG and Game On programs will serve middle school students entering sixth, seventh and eighth grade at Osseo Middle School and North View Middle School supporting students with both academic and enrichment activities.

  • Teen Driver’s Education will be offered in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Students age 14 ½ to 18 can elect to attend classroom training in person, online or a self-paced learning option. To register for Teen Driver’s Education, visit the registration website.
